About Us

Since 2012, we have served as an upscale casual dinner and drinks destination in the heart of Chicago’s Northalsted neighborhood.

The restaurant's name, "Wood", is an homage to Owner Franco Gianni’s father, who was a woodworker for more than 50 years. His family still runs a Chicago-area woodworking factory to this day. Wood’s interiors feature hand-torched cedar wall paneling with elevated touches throughout.

With Executive Chef Devin Kreller (Bellemore, Sixteen, North Pond) at the helm, our kitchen presents seasonably inspired shareable plates focusing on local farm produce, house-butchered meats, house-made pastas, charcuterie and flatbreads from the wood-fired oven. Chef Kreller's timeless French-dominated cooking techniques combine with peak-season produce and responsibly raised meats from small, family-owned farms to set a road map for the constantly innovative and modern menu.

Wood is a 6-time Michelin Bib Gourmand winner.
